KEEN San Francisco offers inclusive recreation and fitness programs that focus on non-competitive physical activity and fun. The program includes one-on-one, non-competitive recreation activities that are open and unstructured, allowing each athlete to engage with volunteer support. All programs are entirely free of charge.

KEEN San Francisco’s mission is to empower youth with disabilities and impact volunteer coaches through participation in free, non-competitive, one-on-one programs of physical activity and fun, supporting the overall health and well-being of all participants. The program accepts every child, regardless of the nature or severity of their disability, and meets the needs of the individual athlete so each participant can find success and joy in an activity with one-on-one interaction with volunteers. KEEN’s open, unstructured, and non-competitive environment enables KEEN athletes to gain confidence and have fun.
KEEN San Francisco, LLC is an affiliate of KEEN USA, a national nonprofit organization with additional affiliates in Chicago, Greater Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and St. Louis, and is a nonprofit organization with a local Board of Directors made up of community leaders, parents, and volunteers. KEEN develops partnerships to actively promote disability awareness. KEEN USA is a GuideStar Gold Participant, a Gold Seal status that is described as the leading symbol of nonprofit transparency and accountability. Volunteering for KEEN is described as fun and offers options for occasional participation, regular involvement, and program leadership, and the organization states that it fosters volunteerism and a commitment to positive change while providing families with respite and a supportive network.
