Community Music Center Classes and Ensembles

Community Music Center Classes and Ensembles offers CMC Sparks Camp, which includes piano and guitar introduction, singing, rhythm, and making music together. About the provider

Community Music Center was founded in 1921. It is a nonprofit music school and performance space with branches in the Mission and Richmond Districts. CMC says it makes high quality music accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, regardless of financial means, and that it partners with many organizations across San Francisco to provide music programming for all ages.

Tuition assistance is available for camps. CMC Sparks Camp states no instrumental or vocal experience is needed. Camp CMC requires a minimum two years of study on an instrument and concurrent enrollment in private lessons; vocal students may fulfill the requirement by participating in chorus or glee club. Camp CMC also requires a 2–3 minute video of a scale and favorite solo piece as a placement audition.
