First Exposures Photography Mentoring Program

First Exposures Photography Mentoring Program offers activities in photography, including darkroom and digital photography. Participants engage in one-to-one mentorship with photographers, providing experiential learning environments such as darkrooms, museums, outdoor spaces, and trips abroad.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Location: Classes are located conveniently near BART and many bus lines, 265 Shotwell St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Since 1993, each participant in First Exposures has been matched one-to-one with a photographer. The program is nationally recognized and fiscally sponsored by Tides Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The leadership team includes Erik Auerbach as Executive Director, Aneeta Mitha as Public Programs & Digital Strategies Manager, and Jaime Wong as Development Associate.
