About

STEMful School Break Camps offer hands-on STEM and STEAM programs where children take part in project-based activities that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The classrooms are described as more like workshops than lecture halls, where experiments become adventures and mistakes are used as learning tools. School break camps are part of a broader set of offerings that also include summer camps and afterschool programs, and families can use an “a la carte” camp option for odd days.

• Ages: 1.5–10 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 am–6:00 pm PT

Everyday STEMful states that its mission is to build children’s confidence around how the world works by guiding them through an engaging, project-based STEM curriculum. STEMful’s founder, Kim Nguyen-Ehrenreich, earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology with a concentration in marine biology and a master’s degree in oceanography, and later built and led a research lab in cardiovascular science, collaborating with world-renowned scientists.

Parents describe teachers at STEMful as engaging and caring, and note that children have learned about centrifugal force, kinetic energy, optical illusions, and other science concepts through play. Parent testimonials also mention that children attend camps at different ages, enjoy a rich and changing range of programs, use the “a la carte” camp option, and spend time outdoors, including trips to the park. Several parents report that their children come back from camp happy and stimulated, and one parent notes that staff have supported a child with special needs with an open mind and heart.
