Moving Arts Academy of Dance

Moving Arts Academy of Dance offers a children's program and a pre-professional program in ballet technique, along with contemporary and classical repertory coaching. Students take part in semester-long programs in the fall and spring, an abbreviated summer session, and have performance opportunities in the winter and spring. The program also offers winter and summer ballet intensives, dance camps over holiday breaks and summer, drop-in classes for levels 4 and above, and adult classes.

Moving Arts Academy of Dance states that ballet technique is taught by knowledgeable, caring, and experienced instructors. Its mission is to provide a nurturing environment for students to excel technically and artistically. The program includes the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a 9-level program that combines high-quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. Students from Moving Arts Academy of Dance have gone on to summer programs such as American Ballet Theatre, City Ballet, New Ballet San Jose, and Houston Ballet. Moving Arts Academy of Dance has been ranked among the top ballet instructors in the Bay Area by independent ratings group Expertise.com, among nearly 200 reviewed.

Through its foundation, Moving Arts Academy of Dance offers full and partial scholarships to talented and committed young students, and residencies to Bay Area choreographers. Donations are tax-deductible through its non-profit organization, Moving Arts Foundation. The organization describes itself as passionate about dance, art, and community.
