Young Audiences of Northern California is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network. Young Audiences of Northern California has been creating art experiences that inspire young people, expand learning, and enliven communities since 1958, and became a member of the national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network in 1958. Founded in 1952, the mission of Young Audiences Arts for Learning is to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. Young Audiences of Northern California has provided arts education to schools in all nine counties of the Bay Area, and last year served over 74,000 students in 89 schools and 37 school districts. YANC brings learning-focused arts programming directly to preK–12 grade students in schools, libraries, community centers, museums, hospitals, homeless shelters, and other centers of learning and healing, and works with school districts, community foundations, and arts and cultural councils to identify students in need of access and current issues that can be addressed through arts programming.
