About

A-TEAM Homeschool Community offers a wide range of a la carte classes for K–12 homeschoolers, including Algebra, English, Science, Math, History, Art, Music, Dance, Ukulele, and PE. The program is a homeschool community organization that functions as a community center with classes rather than as a school, and families choose which specific classes their children take. Each campus offers various classes, events, and weekly opportunities during the year for homeschool students and families to learn, connect, and socialize, and A-TEAM notes that kids are not typically in back-to-back classes for six hours, so there is naturally time for social play, which they consider paramount.

A-TEAM Homeschool Community began more than a decade ago as a homeschool co-op, and its original campus in South San Jose has been a hub of educational activity for more than a decade. The organization now offers more than 100 classes across four campuses under the names A-TEAM San Jose, A-TEAM Cupertino, A-TEAM San Mateo, and A-TEAM Morgan Hill. The mission of A-TEAM is that homeschoolers come together and learn in a safe and fun environment.

The leadership team includes A-TEAM Founder and Executive Director Ann Wolfe, A-TEAM Parent and Teacher Jennie Gilrein, and A-TEAM Art Teacher James Green. Teachers are sourced from the local community, and A-TEAM is an Ocean Grove Approved Vendor.

One parent, Joe Trammell, shared that his daughters attended A-TEAM in South San Jose for two separate semesters, noted a wide range of class offerings, and described the campus as nice, clean, and conveniently located. Another parent, D. V. E., stated that A-TEAM works hard to provide a safe and engaging environment and reported good experiences over two years of high school classes and various social events. A former student, Lauren Elise, reported attending almost all of her classes at A-TEAM from 7th grade through senior year, described the teachers as excellent, talented, creative, and passionate about what they teach, and mentioned unique classes and a strong feeling of community among students and families. Parent Sonya Grossberg described having a great experience at A-TEAM, mentioning great teachers and an opportunity for her kids to make friends in a fun learning environment. Parent Sonja Norland shared that her daughter has been taking classes at A-TEAM for several years with only good experiences and specifically recommended the ASL class.
