Dance Arts Academy offers summer camps that include ballet, tap, jazz, Hawaiian, hip hop, cheerleading, and gymnastics. Participants are placed in groups based on age and ability for these classes.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run in 4- or 5-day blocks, with daily times of either 9:30–12:30 or 1:00–4:00
Dance Arts Academy was founded in 1969 and has offered professional dance instruction in the greater Bay Area for over 56 years. The staff is described as professional and dedicated to making each dancer's experience a positive and knowledgeable one, building self-esteem and confidence, and teaching a strong foundation of dance technique in a well-structured, positive and fun learning environment. Dance Arts Academy reports that many of its students have gone on to professional careers in dance and that it is very proud of its students’ accomplishments, having won over 6,000 national championship awards including top studio in Las Vegas. Camps are held at multiple San Jose community centers, and families are asked to send children with a snack or lunch and a water bottle.
