About
Grupo Folklorico Los Laureles offers dance classes that bring the artistic creations and teachings of Mexico to life. The program includes academy classes, in-school programs, teacher training, small and large private performances, school workshops, and school assemblies. Since 2007, Los Laureles has offered classes to all ages representing Mexico in the United States, and it welcomes students from as young as 2 years old.

Founded in the summer of 2007 under the leadership of Executive Director Ashley Lopez, Grupo Folklorico Los Laureles has expanded over 17 years to offer more than 25 classes. By 2024, it has distinguished itself as the only private Folklorico academy in San Jose and produces two formal recitals each year. Laureles’ stated mission is to educate, conserve, and promote Mexican traditions through dance, fostering a love for this culture in every student they teach. Los Laureles is composed of students, families, and maestros who share a passion for Folklorico and has performed for organizations across the United States.
