About

Lil’ Kickers offers soccer classes that include Bunnies, Thumpers, Cottontails, Hoppers, Jackrabbits, Big Feet, Micro Classes, and the Skills Institute. The program also offers an Enrichment in Motion Program and a free trial class option.

• Ages: 18 months–9 years old
• Schedule: San Jose Spring Session runs March 9–June 7, 2026, with no class on April 5 and May 25; Morgan Hill Spring Session runs April 11–June 7, 2026; priority registration opens February 2 and general registration opens February 9.

Because Lil’ Kickers is primarily a child development program, its stated purpose is to help children mature on all levels, with a focus on building physical, intellectual, and emotional skills on and off the soccer field. Classes are 50 minutes and use highly creative, high-energy, age-appropriate activities, with teaching methods specifically designed to create an atmosphere that is effective and fun. The program’s progressive structure offers a place for children at every level, with parent/child class formats in Bunnies, Thumpers, and Cottontails, non-competitive team play in Jackrabbits and Big Feet, and developmental, non-competitive Micro Classes for intermediate players. In Micro Classes, scrimmage teams field a maximum of four players at a time, everyone gets equal playing time, and there are no goalies, no scorekeeping, and no league standings. Enrollment is always open, classes are pro-rated, and class times are set up to accommodate multiple children and busy schedules. A free trial class is available at no charge. The Enrichment in Motion Program can be offered before and/or after school or as part of physical education programs.

The Lil’ Kickers Program has worked with children at Family Community Church in San Jose, California, on Sunday mornings. One parent, Aly Wagner, a former professional soccer player and two-time Olympic gold medalist, describes Lil’ Kickers as combining soccer and child development principles in fun, non-competitive classes that support milestones in children’s growth and development. Matthew Trujillo, Youth Pastor at Family Community Church in San Jose, states that the program has come in on Sunday mornings for the last couple of years, that the kids look forward to it, and that the coaches bring energy and excitement and do a great job working with the children.
