Summer Day Camp includes activities such as geocaching and bike riding. Participants spend time learning about the river environment, animals, and food production. The program also includes behind-the-scenes tours at Trader Joe's that connect with a lesson in the Historic Orchard, and it uses the gardens, river, and trail during camp time.
• Schedule: Boys & Girls Club members from the Alum Rock, Smythe, and Levin clubhouses join for a week each in July for a half-day camp.
Education staff Luana and Mel support the program. Boys & Girls Club members from the Alum Rock, Smythe, and Levin clubhouses are involved in the camp, and Trader Joe's provides behind-the-scenes tours to complement the lesson in the Historic Orchard.
