CCG Super Camps are held at an award-winning facility that includes two gyms, a foam pit, and trampolines, and the staff integrates this equipment into activities and games. Children are asked to wear comfortable clothing without buttons, zippers, or metal objects, with tennis shoes for outdoor activities, no jewelry other than stud earrings, long hair pulled back, and to bring a water bottle; devices such as tablets, cell phones, laptops, and handheld games are not allowed during camp or in before or after care. CCG Camps are directed, coached, and run by enthusiastic, caring, and well-trained CCG staff, and the coaches are described as experienced, credentialed, and hard working individuals. Central Coast Gymnastics is led by Owner and CEO Mimi Phene-McKellar and, since 1991, CCG and its preschool gymnastics coaches and owner have been developing, learning, growing, designing, creating, and inspiring movement and development in young toddlers. The program states that every child deserves a place to develop a strong and passionate sports foundation that they can apply to any sport of their choice in the future. CCG was awarded “Best Birthday on the Central Coast” by the Tribune and is one of few gyms in the nation with six competitive teams: Boys and Girls DP Artistic, Girls NGA, Trampoline and Tumbling, Acrobatics, and Cheer. One parent, Amanda Wisdom, reports that her daughter has been enrolled for about three years, participates in gymnastics and acrobatics twice a week, and describes the coaches as loving their job, gentle, kind with the kids, and the gym as the “Best gymnastics gym in the central coast! 10/10.”
