Since 1991, Central Coast Gymnastics and its preschool gymnastics coaches and owner have been developing, learning, growing, designing, creating, and inspiring movement, development, and more in young toddlers. The program is led by Mimi Phene-McKellar, Owner and CEO of Central Coast Gymnastics. Cheer coaches are described as experienced, credentialed, hard working individuals. Central Coast Gymnastics is described as an award-winning facility with two gyms and a foam pit and has been awarded “Best Birthday on the Central Coast” by the Tribune.

The program includes recreational and competitive gymnastics, acrobatics, cheer, and T&T, with programs ranging from preschool classes and crawling to advanced gymnastics programs. It offers gymnastics for boys and girls, trampoline and tumbling, cheer, and acrobatics, including recreational T&T classes and acrobatic gymnastics classes for boys and girls ages 5 and up. One fact notes that it is one of few gyms in the nation with six competitive teams: Boys and Girls DP Artistic, Girls NGA, Trampoline and Tumbling, Acrobatics, and Cheer.

Central Coast Gymnastics states a focus on encouragement, resilience, and the joy of learning, along with life skills such as determination, work ethic, perseverance, teamwork, and dedication, and the development of loyalty, trustworthiness, creativity, and motivation through a positive and encouraging training environment. The mission statement says that every child deserves a place to develop a strong and passionate sports foundation that they can apply to any sport of their choice in the future. The facility is described as a clean, welcoming space with a commitment to safety and excellence, and it plans to use iClassPro beginning March 2026 to manage the gymnastics experience.

One parent testimonial from Amanda Wisdom states that her daughter has been enrolled at Central Coast Gymnastics for about three years, participates in gymnastics and acrobatics classes twice a week, and that the coaches love their job, are gentle and kind with the kids, and are trusted to work with them each week.
