Avid4 Adventure describes its instructors as incredibly well-trained and professional staff, all 18 and older, and notes that Avid4 instructors are the top point of positive feedback from parents. Instructors are described as insatiable outdoors experts with serious safety and skills training. Leadership includes founder David Secunda, a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

The organization states that its mission is to give kids a love of outdoor activity and to ensure the future caretaking of the planet, with a belief in the transformative power of the outdoors and a goal of setting kids on a trajectory of lifelong outdoor adventure and stewardship, building their skills, confidence, grit, and determination so they can thrive in the outdoors. Avid4 Adventure is accredited by the American Camp Association, is a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, increased confidence for campers, and a customer experience that exceeds parents’ expectations, with the next camp free if these promises are not met.

The program notes that parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily and that Avid4 Adventure transports campers to recreation areas for the adventure sport scheduled for that day, providing transportation to and from recreation areas. Campers get access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and families are strongly encouraged to send their child’s own bike for biking day with training wheels removed before camp. Programs are described as evolving as campers grow, from age 3 through 17, including progression from pre-K through a first summer job, and the camp focuses on empowering kids of all ages from pre-K through 12th grade while teaching solid skills in adventure sports, sound judgment, problem-solving, and promoting calculated, well-communicated risk taking rather than avoiding all risk.

Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure as a favorite camp where a child who previously biked only with training wheels learned to ride without them and developed new interests in stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking. Other parents describe the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with kids, and say their children were active every day, learned new outdoor skills, and continued talking about camp weeks later.
