Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier Art Classes and Workshops offers drawing and painting from life, master copies, still life, casts, and the life model. The program also includes portrait drawing and painting, figure drawing and figure painting, floral painting, plein air painting, life drawing, still life drawing and painting, structure drawing and structure painting, self-portraits, sculpture in clay, and independent study sessions. Participants can also take part in gallery visits, museum visits, seminars, open model sessions, open studios, Sunday Plein Air Paint Out, and Friday Evening Art and Aperativo singular classes.

Linda Dulaney is the Founder of BACAA and is a lifelong artist who taught and mentored students at Stanford University from 2013–2017. Starting in the mid 1990s, she developed a clear understanding of the style and type of instruction she wanted in an atelier. The Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier was founded to further the practice and education of artists working in the Old Masters methods in the Classical Realist tradition, with activities open to all artists interested in this tradition. The atelier setting is based on the methods and procedures of artist mentor and author Tony Ryder and Master Artist Ted Seth Jacobs, author of Dictionary of the Human Form. BACAA’s new studio has a 50-foot-wide north-facing window and 20-foot-high ceiling, and is described as providing the ideal environment for classical study.
BACAA offers gallery and museum visits to enhance the study of contemporary classical realism. Linda Dulaney’s work has received several recognitions, including her Drawing of Tiana being a finalist in the ARC 2019 Salon Competition and her drawing of Emily being a finalist in the Salon at the Triton Museum of Art, where it was on exhibit from November 9, 2019 to January 26, 2020. Her portrait painting of Feathers received an honorable mention in “The Figure Contemporary” exhibit at the Santa Cruz Art League. Her portrait of Matt was selected and published in a full page in Juliette Aristides’ book “Lessons in Classical Painting,” and her drawing copy of Saint John the Evangelist by Guercino was front-page published in Artist Drawing Magazine Fall 2015.
