Spring Nature Camp

China Camp State Park, 101 Peacock Gap Trail, San Rafael, CA 94903

Celebrate the arrival of spring with five days of outdoor adventure at China Camp State Park! Our days are filled with child-led discovery and hands-on experiences.

Children go on gentle hikes, search for wildflowers and wildlife, build with natural materials, create nature-inspired art, tell stories, play imaginative games, and follow the changing rhythms of spring. Throughout the week, we'll take field trips to different areas within the park, giving children the opportunity to experience the many diverse habitats that make China Camp so special. We'll visit the campground and oak woodland, the beach, and the meadow.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our small-group camp encourages curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and a deep connection with the natural world. With plenty of time for free play, exploration, and quiet observation, children build confidence, friendships, and lasting memories while learning through firsthand experiences outdoors.

WHY FAMILIES LOVE CHINA CAMP

Families return year after year because China Camp offers the perfect blend of adventure, exploration, and belonging. With forests, shoreline, meadows, and marshes all within one beautiful park, every day brings a new discovery. Children build confidence through hiking, imaginative play, and hands-on exploration while forming lasting friendships in a small, nurturing community. It's a place where kids can slow down, get wonderfully muddy, ask big questions, and experience the joy of childhood outdoors.
