We’re Outside! is an exciting new summer camp in its second year that offers a diverse range of activities including fishing, hiking, swimming, sports, arts and crafts. Nestled in beautiful McNears Beach Park at the edge of China Camp State Park in San Rafael, our camp provides a fun and enriching environment for children to learn, explore, and build lasting memories.
Camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm from June 17th to August 16th. We will have a Mon-Wed camp during the week of July 4th.
Drop off will be at site 8. You should see us on the right side of the parking lot. A detailed map is available on our website on the "About" page.
Please make sure your child wears:
- Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities is recommended.
- Closed-toe shoes are required for safety during games and exploration.
- Applies sunscreen before arrival, and consider sending extra for reapplication.
- Campers should bring a labeled water bottle for hydration.
Please make sure your child brings:
- A Backpack: to carry personal items and belongings.
- Packed Lunch, and enough snacks for the day.
- Hat and Sunglasses: for sun protection during outdoor activities.
- Gear for swimming: swimsuit and towel required for swimming. Goggles and sandals recommended.

Sebastian Norman
Sebastian was born and raised in San Francisco and San Rafael, and has been working with children since he was 16 when he started leading sports camps at Kezar Stadium. He has worked as an outdoor instructor at Slide Ranch, a recreation leader for SF Recs and Parks where he was on the ropes course and led rock climbing, and at Camp Mather. He has taught Physical Education and coached sports for over 4 school years. He enjoys sports, and exploring the natural world and is very excited to share that this summer with the campers.
