About

The SAUSD Early Childhood Education Program offers early childhood education programs for children. Early Childhood Education Programs are available for children as young as age 2, providing a strong start for lifelong learning. The program is part of the SAUSD Early Childhood Education Department.

• Ages: 2–5 years old
• Schedule: Office open Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm, starting April 22, 2026

The mission of the SAUSD Early Childhood Education Department is to ensure that children enter Kindergarten healthy and ready to learn. This mission uses the whole child approach, which focuses on each child being healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged, with a goal of long-term development and success for all children. The department is led by Keely Orlando, Director of Early Childhood Education. The program is involved in the community by providing preschool programs and support services in partnership with the California Department of Education, First 5 Orange County, and other community partners.
