Gilchrist Farm Camps and Classes includes hands-on horse care, grooming, and riding in English and Western styles, with an end of the week horse show and options such as driving (horse-related), mounted archery, and 7AM group rides for experienced riders with instructor approval. Campers and visitors can milk goats, gather eggs, pet pigs and bunnies, feed ducks and a tortoise, pet cows, lead donkeys, play with pigs, enjoy pony rides and a pony experience, and take arena or farm walk horseback rides. The program also offers gardening, composting, activities related to raising your own food, watching eggs hatch and caring for chicks, a variety of pioneer and farm crafts such as soap and candle making, leather working, rag doll and pioneer doll or action figure making, wood working, spinning wool, hand dipping candles, and games and activities including milk jug bowling, horse shoes, corn hole, water balloon battles, tug o war, gunny sack races, water play, an obstacle course, a mud run, archery, horseback archery, axe throwing, panning for gold, a tractor pulled wagon ride, a farm train, a giant slide, a straw bale maze, a pony carousel (temporarily closed for repair), farm animal visits, a Butterfly Encounter, and prospecting for gems, minerals, fossils with sifting and sorting mining rough and a gold panning experience at the Gilchrist Farm Mining Company.

• Ages: 2–16 years old
• Schedule: Summer Farm Camp runs in weekly sessions with camp hours from 8AM–2PM and an Extended Day Program from 2PM–6PM daily; Mini Camp for 2–4 year olds runs May 26–29 and June 1–5, Early Bird Camp runs May 26–29, and additional weekly sessions run from early June through early August; goat milking demonstrations take place May through October on Saturdays and Sundays at 10AM and Noon; Farm Visits and the Butterfly Encounter are available on weekends during specified hours and dates.

Gilchrist Farm Camps and Classes takes place entirely outside with shade and misters and includes a petting area, tractor pulled wagon ride, farm train with three barrel cars shaped like a pig, horse, and cow, a giant slide, straw bale maze, pony carousel (temporarily closed for repair), arena for horseback rides, a hand-led farm walk horseback route, an archery and axe throwing range, Gilchrist Farm Mining Company for gem and gold panning, a craft area for pioneer arts, and a Butterfly Encounter tent with flowers and live butterflies. The program offers a Mini Farm Camp “Mini” experience for youngest campers ages 2–5 and a Counselor in Training option for ages 12–16 that includes a leadership component and a more advanced riding program. Gilchrist Farm is celebrating ten years of Gilchrist Farm. Families are instructed that campers should wear a hat for sun protection, closed toe shoes or boots, and long pants, and bring a backpack or bag with a change of clothes if desired, water play clothes under riding clothes if possible, sunscreen in a labeled ziplock-type bag, a full refillable water bottle, lunch or a pizza order, and any preferred snacks, while electronics, phones, or valuables should not be brought.
