Mindful Kung Fu offers Kung Fu classes for kids, teens, and adults, along with Tai Chi and Chi Kung. The program also offers private kung fu lessons and Mindful Healing one-on-one coaching sessions.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at various afternoon and evening times.
Mindful Kung Fu includes Pee Wees (4–6) classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm to 6:00pm, Juniors (7–12) classes on Wednesday and Friday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, and Teens (13–15) classes on Wednesday and Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Adult Kung Fu for ages 14 and up meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Tai Chi classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, with an additional Saturday class from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Mindful Kung Fu teaches traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi and blends traditional martial arts training with modern mindfulness practices. Training at Mindful Kung Fu honors hundreds of years of kung fu wisdom passed down from master to student and includes an old Shaolin animal system with a lineage that dates back thousands of years. The program focuses on three aspects of training: strengthening the body, quieting the mind, and leading from the spirit. Mindful Healing is offered as a one-on-one coaching service that focuses on letting go of negative limited beliefs, and Master David has used his understanding of energetics and the inner body to heal people through this program.
Master David, the owner of Mindful Kung Fu, is a fifth degree black belt in “Suh Do Kwan” Kung Fu and a long-time Tai Chi internal practitioner and teacher. Lesley is a first degree black belt and serves as an assistant instructor in the kids’ classes. His goal is to pass down this system of martial arts with clarity and integrity to the Santa Clarita area.
