After School and Summer Programs

The after school program offers activities focused on Special Needs and Social Skills. It integrates educational therapy, remedial assistance, creative expression, and self-esteem building through a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach. The program is supported by teachers certified in a variety of specialties.

The mission of the program is to serve students demonstrating average to above-average intelligence who experience learning difficulties, providing a therapeutic learning environment to ensure success at New Horizon School or in other educational settings. The program is state certified and operates as a nonprofit. According to Catherine Reisman, a Learning Disabilities Specialist and Speech & Language Pathologist, students from New Horizon are well prepared for college, possessing excellent learning strategies and realistic goals.
