Its experiential exhibits emphasize hands-on engagement and learning through play with a focus on art, nature, and science. Creation Station offers open studio time where children of all ages create open-ended art using recycled and repurposed materials, with an Art Studio Specialist facilitating the use of materials. Garden Party! uses hands-on science and art activities to teach about sustainable gardening practices, and the Dino Trax event is described as a “Jurassic-sized day of discovery.”
The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County (CMOSC) was founded in 2005, and since opening its doors in 2014, it has become a cultural resource and destination for Sonoma County. The mission of the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County is to inspire curiosity and creativity through joyful, transformative experiences. Each year, the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County supports many local nonprofit organizations and schools by donating tickets to assist in fundraising efforts.
