Sonoma County Family YMCA Youth Programs include activities such as Indian Guides, summer camp programs, aquatic programs, sports programs, family programs, aerobics, fitness, parent-child programs, childcare programs, and special water-based activities. The programs also offer aquatic programs for challenged and disabled adults and children, youth sports, teen specialty programs, fitness classes, art exploration, youth enrichment, sports, mindfulness practice, guided nutrition programs, and a “Be Your Own Life Coach” session that shares tips and techniques to coach oneself. The YMCA also hosts the FORE Y Kids Golf Tournament as part of its youth-focused offerings.

• Schedule: Facility hours include weekdays from 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM and weekends from 8 AM to 6 PM, with additional posted hours for the pool, Membership Center, and Childwatch.

The YMCA’s history in Sonoma County includes its founding in 1954, the construction of a program and physical education facility near downtown Santa Rosa in 1972, the addition of a 4,000 square foot Activity Center in 1993, and the addition of a teaching pool in 1995. Between 2003 and 2005, the lobby and Child Watch area were remodeled and expanded, a new 4,700 square foot second-story fitness center was added, locker room areas were enlarged to include Youth & Family areas and a unisex changing room, a new members’ lounge was added, and the natatorium was improved with a new large pool liner.
