The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County, which runs Wonder Camp, was founded in 2005 and opened its doors in 2014. Wonder Camps are led by a Ph.D. biologist, Dr. Dan Levitis, who is the Camps Manager and Volunteer Manager, and is a father, environmental educator, and zoologist. The Children’s Museum of Sonoma County states that it inspires curiosity and creativity through joyful, transformative experiences and has an equity statement emphasizing expanding access for learners of all abilities and children from every background. The organization supports many other local nonprofit organizations and schools by donating tickets to assist in fundraising efforts. All campers must be fully potty trained, and parents are asked to review the bathroom policy, Emergency and Medical Release Form, and important policies on cancellations, child protection policy, and weather.
