Camp HOPE Program

The Camp HOPE Program includes camperships and year-round mentorship for children who are struggling with trauma. The program offers cost-free programming supported by trained, trauma-informed staff and volunteers. Volunteer roles include guiding youth as a HOPE Counselor or Mentor, and the program provides camperships for 74 children and year-round mentorship to 125 children.

Crisis House, which runs the Camp HOPE Program, was established in 1970 in Santee, California, and was the first community-based social service agency in the East County region of San Diego. The mission of Crisis House is to respond immediately to stop the cycle of domestic violence and homelessness and connect families and individuals to crucial resources that empower them to renew their lives. Crisis House provides humanitarian services to those in crisis in East San Diego County. A parent testimonial shared with the program states, "These were difficult times and we struggled. I can't imagine getting through these life obstacles without your compassion, supportive efforts, and uplifting positive spirits. I don't know how to express my gratitude."
