About
Camp Cardinal is an in-person summer sports activities day camp where campers play classic camp games, P.E. games, and take part in team building activities. Campers spend time learning the basics of a different sport each day and can also participate in sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and rock climbing on select days. In the afternoons, campers have a campers' choice period between continuing to play sports, doing arts and crafts, swimming, and rock climbing on select days.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions offered from June 8–August 7
Counselor in Training Camp is for youth entering 8th grade through youth entering 10th grade in the fall and introduces a curriculum geared towards teaching leadership, communication, responsibility, teamwork, problem solving, and decision making. Mornings in Counselor in Training Camp are spent learning and improving the core skills and values of a leader by focusing on a different theme each week, and afternoons include campers' choice time with options including playing sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and rock climbing on select days. Only 25 campers are allowed in the pool each day, and all campers will have the opportunity to swim at least twice throughout the week. Stanford University will no longer require a COVID-19 vaccination to attend Camp Cardinal, but strongly recommends vaccination and bi-valent boosters for all summer participants. Stanford Recreation and Wellness has committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring space for the students, staff, faculty, and affiliates of Stanford University since 2006.
