About
GymStars Summer Camps offers weekly sessions that include skill camps, crafts, activities, physical play, brain games, and quiet time. Every week has a different theme, and families can mix and match skill camps to fill the week with a variety of activities and goals. Camp coaches work hard to create the summer days for camp participants, and health and safety guidelines are blended into the day.
• Schedule: Weekly summer camps with options that include a May 29 single day camp and week-long camps from June 1–5, June 8–12, June 15–19, June 22–26, June 29–July 2 (short week), July 7–11, July 14–18, July 21–25, July 28–August 1, and August 3–7.
• Price: Weekly pricing begins at $179 for 5 days a week half days (morning or afternoon), $299 for 5 days a week all day (morning and afternoon), $62 for a single half day (morning or afternoon), and $87 for a single full day (morning and afternoon), with Early Bird, sibling, multiple camp, and member discounts noted as possibly available.
All campers are asked to bring a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack depending on their enrollment times, and GymStars provides time at a water drinking station. The program notes that campers burn more energy and calories than they are typically used to and asks parents to send more snacks than on a normal day. Early and late drop-offs are available for a small additional fee, and a GymStars app for Apple and Android is available to simplify account management and registration for classes, camps, and special events.
GymStars states that its mission is to provide quality instruction in a safe, clean, and fun environment so that every participant can meet his or her full potential and “Reach for the Stars!” GymStars describes itself as a premier multi-sport, preschool, daycare, and entertainment facility that provides programs for kids of all ages, from babies to teenagers. The organization describes itself as dedicated to developing healthy, happy, confident, responsible children through sports instruction, educational, and entertainment programs, and as a gym that is involved in the community.
GymStars reports that it carefully selects and trains instructors and provides quality training for teachers and coaches, with appropriate student-to-coach ratios and friendly and responsive customer service. Teachers and coaches are guided by 11 teaching principles: Unconditional Respect; Keep the Kids Safe; Clearly Communicate Expectations; Catch Kids Doing Things Right; Discipline with Natural Consequences; Be Enthusiastic; Daily Challenges; Daily Successes; Perpetual Motion; Creativity, Variety, Fun; and Love, Empathy, Compassion. GymStars also notes that it has a great birthday party program.
According to its history, GymStars began with a brainstorming meeting of its founders in August 1998 and opened its doors on July 19, 1999.
