Three Oaks Outdoor Science School describes itself as a world-class outdoor science school that stands heads and shoulders above normal science camps for kids. It is celebrating 85 years of continued outdoor education programming in the San Bernardino National Forest, beginning in 1940 as Camp O’ongo in Running Springs, later becoming Arrowhead Ranch in 1991, and taking on the current name, Three Oaks Outdoor Science School, after a change in ownership in 2019. The stated mission is to create a lifelong impact of environmental advocacy through experiential learning and exploration in a safe and fun environment, with social skill development through teamwork and inclusivity, and with students nurturing their confidence and independence while developing a sense of responsibility and accountability. The staff is described as a tightly knit team of professionals ready to be of service. Three Oaks Outdoor Science School has also created a general information packet for the Fountain Valley Communities.
