About

AYSO Region 665 Youth Soccer Program offers youth soccer and an EPIC (Everyone Plays in our Community) program for children and adults with physical or mental disabilities. The program includes soccer activities that follow the mission of providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. It provides a quality youth soccer program in the Victor Valley and includes open registration for participants.

• Ages: 4–17 years old

The leadership team includes Tanya Burkel as Commissioner and EPIC Coordinator, Lou Turner as Assistant Commissioner, Rob Kelsey as Coach Administrator, Shawn Burkel as Referee Administrator, and Amber Tromblee as Secretary. The program collaborates with neighboring AYSO regions through inter regional play and volunteer training, and it is part of broader partnerships involving the American Youth Soccer Organization with Chicago Public Schools, the US Center for Mental Health & Sport, and the Northland Sports Alliance. Volunteers can receive special training to quickly gain age-appropriate knowledge and skills needed to become referees, including those with little or no prior soccer experience. The organization notes that Michael Karon, President of AYSO, received the Stack Leadership Award from Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
