About
College of the Siskiyous Summer Youth Camps offers separate basketball, show choir and jazz, fire, beach volleyball, and indoor volleyball camps that focus on specific skills and activities. Campers take part in basketball skills such as ball handling, shooting, offense, passing, defense, and other fundamentals of the game of basketball, as well as singing and dancing in the Summer Show Choir and Jazz Camp. Kids Fire Camp activities include climbing ladders, performing rope rescues, extinguishing real fires, learning life-saving CPR and first aid, and experiencing fighting wildland fires, while volleyball camps include both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.

• Schedule: Short summer sessions ranging from two-day to one-week camps, with options in June and July.
• Price: Basketball Camp: $60–$120 depending on age group and registration type; Summer Show Choir and Jazz Camp: $45; Kids Fire Camp: free for 4th to 8th graders; Beach and Indoor Volleyball Camps: $100 pre-registration or $110 walk-up, or $40 per day walk-up.
Basketball Camp is a one-week camp that runs Monday through Thursday, June 15–18, with Group 1 (ages 5–8) meeting 8:30–10:30 am and Group 2 (ages 9–14) meeting 12:00–3:00 pm, and all campers receive a camp t-shirt. Summer Show Choir and Jazz Camp runs a full week from Sunday to Saturday, June 21–27, with Sunday afternoon check-in and voice/dance placement, Monday–Friday singing and dancing from 9:00 am–5:00 pm, and a Saturday morning rehearsal followed by a 12:00 pm performance at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds in Yreka; it offers two age groups, K–5th grade and 6th–12th grade, and invites participants from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Kids Fire Camp is described as a three-day camp held Monday–Tuesday, June 22–23, from 9:00 am–3:00 pm, is free for all 4th to 8th graders, and provides all equipment and lunch all three days, with participants possibly being asked to run, climb, or lift objects.
Beach Volleyball Camp is a three-day camp held Monday–Wednesday, June 22–24, with Elementary and Middle School campers from 8:00–10:00 am and High School campers from 10:30 am–12:30 pm; each camper receives a t-shirt, daily awards are given out, and families are asked to have campers bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a towel, with extra water provided. Indoor Volleyball Camp is a two-day camp held Wednesday–Thursday, July 29–30, with Elementary and Middle School campers from 9:00 am–12:00 pm and High School campers from 1:00–4:00 pm; each camper receives a t-shirt and daily awards are given out. For Basketball Camp, a waiver form must be signed by the parent or guardian, and checks are made out to College of the Siskiyous Men’s Basketball, while Beach Volleyball Camp payments are made out to College of the Siskiyous Volleyball, and Indoor Volleyball Camp payments are sent to College of the Siskiyous Women’s Volleyball.
Basketball Camp instruction is provided by College of the Siskiyous Men’s Basketball Head Coach Kyle Heath and past and present players, with Kyle Heath serving as Camp Director. Summer Show Choir and Jazz Camp is led by Camp Director Ron Slabbinck and is taught by jazz and show choir directors, composers, and choreographers described as among the most respected in the United States. Beach Volleyball and Indoor Volleyball Camps are directed by Lyndi Cadola, with instruction from College of the Siskiyous coaches and players. Kids Fire Camp activities are connected to the College of the Siskiyous Paramedic Program, which includes an instructor, Theresa Gowan, who has been honored with a Statewide Clinical Excellence Award. Portable restrooms are planned to support Jazz Camp students and staff, along with on-campus residents and CTE courses, during a campus closure and schedule changes related to a city-mandated water main shut-off on June 25, 2026.
