About
AK Taekwondo Center offers Taekwondo training and other martial arts instruction. The program uses personalized, small-group training with smaller classes and individual attention. Programs are available for children, teens, and adults, with an emphasis on individual growth, structured learning, and meaningful character development, as well as a focus on respect, self-control, perseverance, and a positive attitude toward learning.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Friday from 4:30–8:30 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM
The leadership team includes Grandmaster Sohn, Master Jesse, and Sean. Grandmaster Sohn is described as a lifelong practitioner of Taekwondo with decades of dedication to the art and as a respected leader in the martial arts community. The mission at AK Taekwondo Center states that students gain self-discipline, respect, and confidence while learning techniques and working out in a safe and supportive environment, and that the center does not promote mass instruction but instead focuses on each student as uniquely different.
Parent testimonials describe the center as placing importance on character development, respect, concentration, kindness, and perseverance. Parents note that classes can include games that get students giggling, rounds of applause to acknowledge effort, and careful correction of form and behavior, and they mention that instructors Sean and Jesse are patient, encouraging, and push students enough to get the most out of class. One parent reports that their child looks forward to classes, has the goal of earning a black belt, and has progressed to green belt with improved technique.
