Willits Kids Club offers activities such as gardening, sports, games, art, crafts, ceramics, cooking, building projects, service projects, reading groups, and homework help. The program also includes leadership and service opportunities for youth in its after school programs.

• Schedule: The Baechtel Grove Kids Club after school program for 6th through 8th graders runs from the time school is out until 6 PM every day that school is in session.
Willits Kids Club includes an Elementary Kids Club after school program that serves Brookside and Blosser Lane schools and offers guidance and enrichment for students in grades K–5 in the after school hours. Elementary school students from Brookside ride the school bus to the Willits Kids Club youth center on Blosser Lane. The Baechtel Grove Kids Club after school program for 6th through 8th graders offers a supervised environment for hanging out after school, getting help with homework, and making and creating things, and it works with school sports teams and after school activities so participants can check in, get a snack, do some homework, and then go to sports practice. Many staff members have worked with children in education as classroom aides and continue to work in the schools, and many are bilingual, with many staff members also being Kids Club alumni working in the after school program.
The mission of Willits Kids Club is to provide a safe place for the children of Willits to play, learn, and grow, and its primary goal is youth guidance. The organization’s history includes a first organizational meeting in 1999, incorporation in March 2000, and completion of the Willits Kids Club youth center in 2009. A community partnership formed to build the youth center, with major funding from grants from the State of California, County of Mendocino, FIRST 5, and many other businesses, groups, and individuals. The leadership team includes Gerry Gonzalez (President), Bruce Yoxall, Pat Yoxall (Treasurer), Cyndi Pfingsten, Davey Bowles, Bianca Nieto, Tracie Mello, TaNea Yager (Site Director), and Jaedyn Dondero (Baechtel Grove Coordinator).
