About
Winters AYSO Region 436 offers youth soccer and the Winters EPIC adaptive soccer program. The program includes an AYSO Select season for interested players who want to play in a more competitive environment following the fall season. All coaches are volunteers, and all players will play a minimum of 50% of all games, with AYSO requiring all players to play 75% of the game before anyone else can play a full game.
• Schedule: The Select Season runs from January through March, with games on Saturdays from early January through March and a Select Season tournament at the end of March.
The mission of Winters AYSO Region 436 is to deliver soccer at as high a level of skill as they are able to as many kids in Winters as they can. Winters AYSO is run entirely by volunteers and on average 400 kids participate in the soccer program per year, serving almost a quarter of the kids in town under the age of 18. The AYSO Select program leads into the Select Tournament, which represents the culmination of two seasons, fall and select, and Winters will be playing in Pleasant Hill and Davis for this tournament. A high level of commitment is expected from coaches, players, and parents during the Select season. It is the goal of Winters AYSO that all coaches undergo a minimum of training set by AYSO, and for Select coaches these guidelines are strictly enforced because a team with a coach who has not completed the required training cannot compete in the end-of-season tournament. AYSO, the American Youth Soccer Organization, serves over 500,000 kids and over 50,000 teams nationwide. The leadership team for Winters AYSO Region 436 includes Regional Commissioner Kathy Tuel; Secretary Crystal Apilado; Registrar Crystal Apilado and Ana Garcia; Alliance Director Ana Garcia; Safety Director Everardo Zaragoza; CVPA Kathy Tuel; Referee Administrator Eric Jepsen; EPIC Administrator Crystal Apilado; and Social Media lead Ana Garcia, with several other roles currently listed as open or seeking candidates.
