The Select program includes a winter Select Season and a Select Season tournament, with teams typically playing other Select teams from nearby regions such as Pleasant Hill, Mt. All coaches in Winters AYSO Region 436, including Select coaches, are volunteers who must meet minimum AYSO training standards in order to coach, and Select teams must have a properly trained coach to compete in the end-of-season tournament.

• Schedule: Registration for the Select Season begins near the end of the Fall Season, teams are selected and notified in December, training sessions for Select teams typically begin in December and occur twice a week, and Select Season games are played on Saturdays from early January through March, culminating with the Select Season tournament at the end of March; Select teams can continue together and play in tournaments from March through June.

On average, 400 kids participate in the Winters AYSO soccer program per year, and approximately a quarter of the children in Winters play soccer through AYSO.
