Skylake Yosemite Camp offers a traditional sleepaway summer camp experience with daily Yosemite National Park day trips, weekly backpack trips, and a wide range of in-camp activities. Campers take part in waterfront activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, log rolling, and waterskiing using camp waterski boats, as well as horseback riding on horseback trails and mountain biking on mountain bike terrain. Additional activities include day and overnight hiking, a climbing wall, tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, tetherball, a ropes course, riding ring and ball field activities, crafts in the craft shop such as friendship bracelets and lanyards, and nightly campfires with songs, skits, and plays.

Skylake Yosemite Camp has been a California overnight summer camp since 1945 and has been a summer tradition since 1945. The camp describes its mission as offering a classic sleepaway summer camp experience where campers create happy memories, develop interests and skills, experience personal growth, build friendships, and develop confidence while playing, learning and thriving in an outdoor setting. Most campers come from the Los Angeles and San Francisco area, with about 10% visiting from the East Coast and from around the globe. The camp operates under a Special Use Permit with the Sierra National Forest. In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, Skylake Yosemite Camp is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and Skylake adheres to that policy. The camp offers a traditional California sleepaway summer camp experience without cell phones, video games or the internet, and provides transportation by charter buses on opening and closing days of camp from the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles.
