After School Conservatory

After School Conservatory offers private piano, guitar and bass guitar, voice, violin, and drum lessons. It also offers a group piano class, a band program, a musical theatre program, a musical theatre camp, and acting lessons. The program says students can learn note reading, music theory, vocal techniques, and classic rock and pop songs arranged for them.

• Private violin lessons — Beginner, intermediate, or advanced violin and viola students of all ages 5 and up · ABRSM violin exam support is offered; more advanced students can audition at youth symphony orchestras with guidance.
• Private drum lessons — All levels and ages 5 and up · Students have access to a Roland electronic drum kit.
• Group piano class — $350 · Length: 30 min; max 4 students per group; lasts 9 weeks; taught by Jiye Hayden.
• Band program — one weekly group rehearsal · Students learn classic rock and pop songs arranged for them and are provided a band coach for each rehearsal.
• Musical theatre program — ASC Theatre is part of After School Conservatory; the school offers a musical theatre program.
• Musical theatre camp — ASC Theatre has been offering Musical Theatre Camp and acting lessons.
• Acting lessons — ASC Theatre has been offering acting lessons.

Jiye Hayden is the Director and Founder of After School Conservatory, and the About page also lists Alex Trombley, Eran Scoggins, and Carolyn Glaude as instructors. Jiye Hayden has taught piano for over 20 years and holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, and a Piano Teaching Certificate. The school says instructors are required to have a college degree in music or professional performance experience, and it says it has 5 stars on both Google and Yelp reviews.

All students are encouraged to participate in bi-annual music recitals. ABRSM piano and violin exam participation is recommended or supported for some students. Younger violin students are required to rent or purchase properly sized violins supervised by the instructor. Guitar students need to bring their own instrument once they sign up. The school says flexible scheduling and rescheduling are available.
