YMCA Overnight Camps include a wide range of activities such as archery, swimming, canoeing, fishing, BB guns, slingshots, and low ropes. Campers take part in rock climbing wall and climbing tower experiences, zip line, Mine Chute Slides, GaGa Ball, basketball, volleyball, 9-Square in the Air, and team building activities. The program also offers nature hikes, astronomy and star gazing, campfires with songs and skits, campfire activities, twilight activities, Morning Inspiration, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, crafts, improv and drama activities, and a camp dance.

• Schedule: Multi-day overnight sessions, including 6 days/5 nights at YMCA Camp E.L.K. and 7 days/6 nights at YMCA Camp Oakes
• Price: $799 – Standard Rate for YMCA Camp E.L.K., including 6 days/5 nights, 3 meals per day, transportation, camp T-shirt, photo yearbook, and all activities; $150 nonrefundable deposit required. $875 per camper for YMCA Camp Oakes, including 7 days/6 nights, 3 meals per day, transportation, camp T-shirt, photo yearbook, and all activities; $150 nonrefundable deposit required; financial assistance available.
Health Center personnel are on site 24 hours a day during YMCA overnight youth camps to dispense all medications and provide for all healthcare and first aid needs. The YMCA of Orange County states that its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, with a focus on youth and family development, healthy living, and social responsibility driven by staff and volunteers. YMCA Camp E.L.K. is accredited by the American Camp Association, and ACA camps meet over 300 standards for health, safety, staff, and program quality, and all camps participate in a Child Abuse Prevention Assessment every other year by Praesidium. A Summer Camp Packing List is provided, and a Camper Physical Exam is mandatory for both YMCA Camp E.L.K. and Camp Oakes. The program notes that Camp Oakes includes a week-long sleepaway camp and offers a Counselors-in-Training option for ages 15–17 to gain leadership and life skills, and that rentals and retreat opportunities are available at Camp E.L.K., including use of a private facility for an exclusive, all-in-one retreat experience.
