Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, self defense, and martial arts and fitness instruction. The program includes a Kid’s Program, a Virtual Academy, and a Black Belt Team, and it offers a free trial class. The academy is known as the Home of the Spider Guard and follows a legitimate and traditional historic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage while welcoming all into its Jiu-Jitsu family.

• Schedule: Class options Monday–Thursday with morning and evening hours, plus limited Friday, Saturday, and Sunday hours

Founded in April of 2002 in Orange County, California, Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is led by world-known 6th Degree BJJ Black Belt Professor Mauricio “Tinguinha” Mariano, who is the head instructor. Tinguinha has taught, trained, and promoted all TBJJ instructors, and the academy has a high-rank and well-accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team. The Tinguinha BJJ Academy’s mission statement is to help members develop, grow, and improve both physically and mentally through progression in martial arts by offering innovative and enjoyable martial arts and fitness instruction, encouraging individuals and families to lead healthier lifestyles, and assisting them in reaching their martial arts and fitness-related goals. The academy is described as one of the best schools of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in California and has done extremely well in major Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in the U.S.
