Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction that includes self defense, a Kid’s Program, a Virtual Academy, and a Black Belt Team. The academy is led by World known 6th Degree BJJ Black Belt Professor Mauricio “Tinguinha” Mariano, who teaches classes to students of all levels and ages weekly and personally crafted the TBJJ Academy curriculum. The academy is known as the Home of the Spider Guard and follows a legitimate and traditional, historic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage.

• Schedule: Class options are available Monday through Thursday from morning into evening, with additional daytime hours on Friday and morning to midday hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Founded in April of 2002 in Orange County, California, Tinguinha Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy has a 3000 square foot facility with two mat areas, a reception area, a shower, and a spacious changing room. The Tinguinha BJJ Academy’s mission statement is to help members develop, grow, and improve both physically and mentally through progression in martial arts, by offering martial arts and fitness instruction and encouraging individuals and families to lead healthier lifestyles and reach their martial arts and fitness related goals. The academy describes itself as a source of a very technical level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction and self defense, notes that it has been doing extremely well in major BJJ tournaments in the U.S., and offers a free trial class. Mauricio “Tinguinha” Mariano has taught, trained, and promoted all TBJJ instructors and is a featured guest instructor at academies worldwide, including TBJJ affiliated schools, and the academy states that it strives to offer a personalized experience for all students while welcoming all into its Jiu-Jitsu family.
