About
GardenWorks for Kids is a children’s learning garden where kids can attend an event, join adventure days, or book a field trip. Children dig in the dirt, plant flowers, meet butterflies, taste what grows, and take part in hands-on, nature-based learning experiences. The program offers relaxed, nature-rich play days and screen-free garden days where children can dig, plant, explore, taste, create, and connect outdoors through hands-on education.
• Schedule: Hours varies daily — please check the Events page before visiting. Not open daily to the public.
In 2010, after retiring from law enforcement and raising young children, founder Donna Solomon began the work that became GardenWorks for Kids, with support from the local community, the city, and generous businesses. GardenWorks for Kids was created to give children space to slow down, explore freely, and fall in love with the natural world, and it now welcomes families, schools, educators, and community members to experience nature up close. Through hands-on education, the program focuses on children building connection to the earth, healthy habits, curiosity, and joy.
