About the provider
JAS was founded in 1991. Since 1996, JAS has donated over $11 million to education initiatives. JAS’ mission is to present and preserve jazz and related forms of music through world-class events, performances, and education programs. JAS LEI develops programming that complements existing public school music programs and replaces programs where schools suffer losses due to budget cuts.
What families say
“If one of the goals of JAS is to expose and inspire young people to love to play jazz music, you have accomplished this goal in spades with our boys. While our appreciation for this outcome is immeasurable, as parents we want you to know that even more important to us, we see our sons as having been shaped and prepared for life by the experience made possible by JAS.” — Proud parents of three sons that participated in JAS LEI Programs for 7
“When I saw Wynton Marsalis perform Congo Square in Aspen, I thought I was in heaven. It was one of hundreds of magical moments that weaves JAS into the body-mind-spirit of our town.” — Walter Isaacson
