Mini Programs and Junior Programs include uniforms, poms, and a bow, and both groups perform at 2 high school events.

• Schedule: Multiple camps and clinics for dancers throughout the season

Mini Programs include learning fun dances, cheers, and sidelines. Junior Programs focus on learning technique and dance skills to help prepare for high school dance teams. The program uses a unique combination of techniques with a focus on strength, alignment, injury prevention, power, and flexibility in a carefully calculated layout, and this approach is intended to make any team stronger regardless of competition level.

The SPARK Dance Team Training Program includes a teacher training program with training materials, online videos, individualized class plans, and annual access to feedback and follow-up from Nicole. Each staff member is CPR/First Aid certified and has completed SafeSport training for athlete safety. The leadership team includes Nicole Kahre, Owner of SPARK Dance Team Training Program, and Megan Mehl, Mini & Junior Program Director.

Nicole began her teaching career in 1998 and founded the SPARK Dance Team Training Program in 2015. Nicole has received numerous awards for outstanding choreography. The program’s mission is to foster excellence, develop strong and consistent dancers, promote self-esteem, understand the mechanics behind the movement, and instill a solid work ethic, while focusing on technique and mastery of fundamental skills necessary to succeed in any dance team program, and making dance team training accessible to all ages and levels while instilling confidence, enthusiasm, and a sense of community within each dancer.

Testimonials describe Nicole and SPARK as bringing passion, knowledge, and integrity to the dance team community and inspiring excellence and investment in youth, as shared by Brian Friedman, Creative Director of The X Factor UK and The X Factor USA. Katie Fear Lane, Head Coach for the University of Colorado Dance Team, describes Nicole’s teaching as offering multiple explanations to reach different dancers and notes that Nicole does not give up on dancers while pushing them to their limits with a calm and encouraging voice. Angela M. Ottmann, Conference Director for the National Dance Coaches Association and prior head coach of Ponderosa High School Poms for 25 years, states that SPARK provides quality training both mentally and physically, customizes technical training workouts, and motivates dancers to be their personal best, and she recommends integrating SPARK into a team’s formula for success on and off the dance floor.
