Instructors are described as incredibly well-trained and professional staff, including friendly, qualified instructors and insatiable outdoors experts who are all 18 and older with serious safety and skills training, and are noted as talented teachers with the ability to connect with kids. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking, with camps that give kids both a place to start and room to grow outdoors in adventure sports such as mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, and paddling.

Avid4 Adventure is accredited by the American Camp Association, named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps, and is a Certified B Corp. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, increased confidence, and a customer experience that exceeds parents’ expectations, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Campers are grouped by skill level, and the camp is described as designed for riders of all abilities, with multiple sessions promoted as resulting in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment and environmental awareness, and improved ability to connect socially and make new friends.

Avid4 Adventure is described as the home of multi-sport adventure, with top tier staff, transportation to and from recreation areas, access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, authentic experiences in beautiful recreation areas, and empowerment of kids from PreK–12 highlighted as features. Programs are described as evolving as campers grow from age 3 to 17, offering new experiences and fresh challenges from Pre-K through their first summer job. At Valmont Bike Park, riding gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, a bike, and a helmet are required; pads and gloves can be purchased at the online store, and bikes are available to rent for the week through the registration process. To register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if a camper does not meet this minimum skill requirement, the camp reserves the right to move the camper to a different program if space is available or remove the camper from the group and offer a credit.

Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where a child who previously used training wheels learned to ride without them and later became able to ride independently, and note that Avid taught her a lot. Other parents describe staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children, and say the program is well run and that kids learn new outdoor skills. Additional feedback mentions kids having a great time, talking about camp more than a month later, wanting to return the next year, and being active every day while learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
