Northern Colorado Fencers (NCF Boulder)
Northern Colorado Fencers - NCF Boulder, 1949 33rd St, Boulder, CO 80301
About
Northern Colorado Fencers (NCF Boulder) offers fencing with coach-led, structured, and purposeful training. The program is driven, strategic, and inclusive, and does not run drop-in or self-directed sessions. Competition is optional and coach-guided, and some athletes compete regularly while others train seriously without competing.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Year-round classes with afternoon and evening options on weekdays and Saturday daytime options, plus separate summer hours on weekdays and Saturdays
For more than 45 years, Northern Colorado Fencers (NCF Boulder) has taught fencers of all ages, abilities, and aspirations to think sharply, move with purpose, and embrace the challenge of the sport. Northern Colorado Fencers is built on the belief that good training environments produce good athletes and good people over time, with a focus on structure, consistency, and thoughtful development rather than shortcuts, hype, or quick outcomes. Its approach is shaped by decades of coaching experience and a clear understanding of how athletes actually learn and grow. Competition is treated as one way to apply training, not the purpose of training, and both competitive and non-competitive paths are considered valid at NCF. Athletes are not placed by age alone, prior experience, or self-description; placement and progression are adjusted as athletes develop. Programs are designed for long-term development, sustainable training habits, and continued engagement with the sport. Practices are structured, supervised, and respectful, with clear expectations so athletes know what they are working on and why, and the program values structure over chaos, readiness over rushing, training over outcomes, and consistency over hype. New and existing fencers can sign up for classes online, and families with an existing account are directed to thefencingtrainer.com.
