Tinker Art Studio Camps & Classes grew from a few weekly classes for preschoolers and elementary-aged kids in 2012 into a program that now includes after-school classes, camps, birthday parties, sewing and sculpture programs for older children, and programming for teens and adults. The program’s mission is to cultivate connection, community, and creativity through hands-on art experiences for all ages, with a focus on process over perfection and arts-integrated learning. Tinker describes itself as Boulder’s inclusive community art studio and a cornerstone of Boulder’s creative community, with three guiding pillars of Connection, Community, and Creativity.

The teaching team includes founder Christie Hubley, a former elementary and ceramics teacher with a Master’s in Education focused on Integrated Teaching through the Arts and a BA in English Literature and Elementary Education, along with staff who hold degrees in areas such as Art, English Literature, Ceramics, Education, Mass Communications, Dance, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Psychology, Studio Art, Marketing, and Fine Arts. The leadership team includes Christie Hubley (Founder), Anika Feldmann (General Manager), Julia Zuniga (Clay Hub Manager), Alexis Bambach (Executive Assistant), Mariah Stotsky, Kathy Martin, and Kaitlyn Shirley (Lead Children’s Teachers), Allie Bundy (Front Desk Team & Lead Digital Art Teacher), Lindsay Jane Ternes (Adult 2D Lead Teacher), and Erica Podwoiski (Lead Adult Teacher). Lindsay is an award-winning plein air landscape painter.

During Digital Art classes, Tinker Art Studio Camps & Classes provides tablets and styluses for each student. At Clay Hub, students aged 8 and up learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in a well-equipped studio. Testimonials from parents and adult students describe experiences with Tinker’s camps, Tinker Time, birthday parties, and adult sessions, and refer to the studio’s calm, creative atmosphere, welcoming staff, and focus on building community through art.
