Way of the Crane Martial Arts offers Kids Beginner Martial Arts Classes, Kids Intermediate Martial Arts Classes, Group and Private Self-Defense Only Classes, and Streetwize Self-Defense Training. Kids Beginner Martial Arts Classes meet Tuesdays 4-4:30 PM, Thursdays 4-4:30 PM, and Saturdays 9-9:30 AM. Kids Intermediate Martial Arts Classes meet Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 PM, Thursdays 4:30-5:30 PM, and Saturdays 9:30-10:30 AM.

About the provider
Way of the Crane Martial Arts has been owned and operated by Sensei Melanie Murphy since 1983 and has served Boulder since 1983. The school describes itself as one of the oldest and longest continually running martial arts schools in Boulder, Colorado. Its mission is traditional practical martial arts and self-defense training that incorporates Karate, Kung-Fu, Ju-Jitsu, and Chin-Na and emphasizes self-reliance and situational awareness for real world conflicts.
Children under 18 are not permitted to become Black Belts in this school. Training emphasizes safety, correct execution, real world application, honesty, caring instruction, and a safe environment. The kids program notes that children are expected to display the effort and skill necessary for promotion rather than attendance or mediocre performance.
