Starz Theater Company

Starz Theater Company offers full-scale musical productions, a summer theater intensive, and musical theater, acting, dance, and vocal classes. Students take part in musical theater classes that are part of the TPD Musical Theater Program, which trains the performer as a whole person and uses a cumulative curriculum developed exclusively for Turning Pointe. The Young Performer Summit is a 3-day musical theater intensive that ends with an onstage showcase.

• Schedule: Classes run September–May, with a 6-week summer series in June–July.

Starz Theater Company is the theater performance division of Turning Pointe School of Dance, a Christian-based dance studio and a faith-based arts program that honors Christ in all it does. Each year, Starz Theater Company produces two full-scale musicals for performers ages 9–18, and the Young Performer Summit is a signature 3-day summer theater intensive for students ages 10–18 that includes an onstage showcase. The TPD Musical Theater Program provides dance, voice, and acting classes for ages 4–18, and students have chances to show their work in the annual TPD recital or a class musical showcase. Performers who are not enrolled at Turning Pointe may audition through community auditions, and casting is based on experience and available roles. The program’s mission is to build a positive culture, uplifting community, and bright futures by developing well-rounded performers and young leaders who understand the power and purpose of the arts, in line with the vision of Turning Pointe Dance. It is a faith-based arts program that states it empowers students with grit, grace, and gratitude for the arts and God’s Kingdom, honors Christ in all it does, and aims to encourage each individual in the unique path God has set before them as they impact others and “shine like the stars in the sky.”
