About

Art Students League of Denver Youth & Teen Programs offers youth classes, youth camps, summer camps, Teen Studio, Friday Teen Studio Night, classes, and workshops. Youth classes and camps include supervised care between morning and afternoon camps for children registered for both sessions, and students’ classrooms open 5 minutes before class begins. Teen Studio and Friday Teen Studio Night give participating teens access to high-quality art supplies and the guidance of professional faculty artists as they work independently on projects of their choosing.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Youth Programs Summer Camp 2026 runs June 8–August 14, with Friday Teen Studio Night held from 5:30–8:30pm and lunch supervised care from 12–1:30pm between camp sessions
• Price: Supervised care costs $50 per week-long camp

Youth classes and camps are available for kids ages 6–13, and youth program spaces are described as fun, non-competitive, and non-outcome based. Teen Studio is open to teens ages 14–17 and is held every Friday night, where teens co-create together for exhibits and pop-up shows and share dinner. There is no set curriculum, so students are free to explore what interests them, and instructors individualize learning using demonstrations, study of master artists, and group critiques. Lunch is not provided during supervised care and each student brings their own lunch, and parents or guardians must escort children to and from their assigned studio unless the child is registered for supervised care for summer camps. For youth aged 11 and older, parents or guardians may sign a waiver form allowing children to sign themselves in and out of the classroom, and all Summer Camp registrations are final and do not qualify for refunds, transfers, or class credits.

The Art Students League of Denver opened its doors in 1987, and the Sherman School building it occupies was originally built in 1893, with an Annex added in 1920. The organization states that it empowers people to experience the joy of art in their own way. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported by private donations, tuition, foundation grants, and the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District. Community engagement with diverse communities is described as central to the Art Students League’s mission and is carried out through partnerships with performing arts groups, public schools, museums, other art centers, libraries, and community centers across the metro area.
