About

Altitude Youth Ultimate offers Ultimate Frisbee programs that include summer camps, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and other youth programs. The program also runs adult programs that take place alongside its youth offerings. Most camps are co-ed and are open to both experienced players and youth athletes who are new to Ultimate Frisbee, and participants only need running shoes or soccer-style cleats.

Altitude Ultimate is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to developing athletes and promoting youth participation in Ultimate Frisbee teams, leagues, tournaments, camps, and clinics across the Front Range, Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain West. Its mission includes a focus on equitable access and spirited play, supporting participation at all levels of competition, providing resources for coaches, players, parents, and fans, and maintaining a stable, sustainable organization that grows and strengthens the Ultimate community in the region. Founded in 2014, Altitude Ultimate is run by a volunteer board made up of experienced Ultimate Frisbee players and coaches, with 2026 officers including President Joe Durst, Vice President Libby Cravens, Secretary Zach Hochstadt, and Treasurer Chris Ward. The leadership team also includes Senior Operations Manager Mike Richard and Outreach Director and board member Libby Cravens. Mike Richard is responsible for planning, managing, and executing logistics for summer camps, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and other youth and adult programs, as well as web management, accounting, developing resources and new programs, and expanding effectiveness in serving the Colorado Ultimate community, and he previously worked in education as a teacher and support staff for 10 years. Programs follow USA Ultimate’s Gender Inclusion Policy, and players are invited to play in the gender division that most closely aligns with their identity. Altitude Youth Ultimate states that it seeks to create a welcoming environment for participants of all backgrounds and identities, to increase access within racially and ethnically diverse communities, to raise awareness of DEI issues, and to develop partnerships so communities can inform its practices. The organization states that it will be transparent and accountable to its community, solicit feedback, empower its EDI Task Force to highlight inequities and blindspots, build community partnerships, and show how it is spending its funding.
