About

Kids Do It All: Summer Theatre Camp is a week-long day camp where campers take part in playwriting, acting, performance, improv, improv games, choreography, movement, voice, singing, dancing, music composition, songwriting, props, scene design, and design. Each session includes theatrical expression through movement, costume, and storytelling, and campers explore museums in and around the UCA. Kids Do It All: Summer Theatre Camp is an annual musical-theatre children’s theatre program originally founded by retired CSU Professor Walt Jones and currently run by Debbie Swann. The leadership team includes Director Debbie Swann, Senior Instructor of Theatre, and Music Director/Composer Hannah Swanson, Instructor of Collaborative Piano. During each session, faculty and students from the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance guide up to 50 children through the entire process of theatre, and camp participants experience practical application of all aspects of theatre. The program embraces a “yes and” mindset, focuses on process rather than product, and states that all are welcome and that bullying and name-calling will not be tolerated. Kids Do It All is described as one of the most innovative theatre programs in the country, and families are told to expect a supportive, collaborative environment with enthusiastic CSU students as teachers and counselors. Each camper may attend no more than two weeks of Kids Do It All, 4th/5th and 6th/7th/8th grade groups are waitlist only as of 02.02.2026, age groups per session are based on grade in Fall 2026 (2nd–3rd, 4th–5th, and 6th–8th graders), and the program will be using a new registration system that requires creating an account before registering.
