Colorado Storm Soccer Club was founded in 1967 and has been providing youth soccer to Colorado communities for nearly 60 years. It operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The club’s mission states that it is rooted in passion, purpose, and pride, and that it aims to elevate the youth soccer experience in Colorado.
The club offers a comprehensive pathway from toddlers in its Sparks program to elite athletes competing at the semi-professional level, with programs spanning grassroots to elite competition. It annually educates more than 600 coaches through what it describes as the nation’s largest club coach education program. Colorado Storm Soccer Club hosts some of the largest and most competitive youth soccer tournaments in the Rocky Mountain region.
Colorado Storm Soccer Club has been recognized as a Top 50 Youth Soccer Club in the U.S. Its awards include Colorado Parent Family Favorites Soccer Program Finalist in 2018, Best Soccer Program in 2019, and Best Soccer Program in 2020. The club set a Guinness World Record for the Largest FootGolf Tournament with 310 participants in 2018 and organized a Guinness World Record–setting online soccer video chain in 2020. In 2021, it was named a Project Play Champion by the Aspen Institute, and it is noted as the first youth soccer club in the United States recognized by the Aspen Institute for innovation in youth sports participation and program development.
Colorado Storm Soccer Club serves thousands of families across the Front Range and beyond, with local clubs described as united as one Storm and built on strong local communities connected by a shared vision. Its community involvement includes supporting local after-school and youth sports programs through a FootGolf tournament and bringing together community-driven youth development with the inspiration of a professional club.
