About

Youth Sport Camps offers summer day-camp programs that include baseball, dance, and multi-sport experiences. The program runs 16 summer-long, active lifestyle camps that focus on health and fitness-oriented activities for children while they participate in these sports and movement-based sessions.

• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Price: CSU faculty and staff receive a 10% discount on registration.

Youth Sport Camps began in 1970. The program is part of CSU’s Commitment to Campus programs and supports the educational and public service mission of the Department of Health and Exercise Science and Colorado State University through innovative programming and active learning practices focusing on obesity prevention, lifelong fitness, and skill development. The leadership contact for Youth Sport Camps is Brian ([email protected]).

Youth Sport Camps includes a scholarship program that provides scholarships to underserved children, with 100% of each gift dedicated to scholarships. Sponsorship from donors, including Krazy Karl’s Pizza and Gene and Carol Vaughan, supports making Youth Sport Camps affordable to kids throughout the community. The program has a pilot partnership that pairs campers who need special or one-on-one attention with students interested in Occupational Therapy. Youth Sport Camps also provides hands-on experience and research opportunities for CSU students and staff and plans to collect data from volunteer campers about their physical activity levels and nutritional habits.
